Parkpoint Healdsburg

CANCER WELLNESS PROGRAM

MON & WED 4:15–5pm
6 Weeks | MAR 17–APR 23, 2025

At Parkpoint Healdsburg, we are very happy to partner with local non-profit North Bay Cancer Alliance to offer a 6-week Cancer Wellness for people in any phase of treatment or recovery. Program includes in-person circuit training classes incorporating balance, strength, and stretching and are led by Nationally Certified Personal Trainers and Group Exercise instructors.

  • For active Parkpoint members, a $50 donation to support the program is appreciated but not required.
  • For non-members, there is a registration fee of $50 to participate in the wellness classes.

Research for cancer survivors shows that being active:

  • Helps reduce fatigue, the most common side effect of cancer treatment
  • Improves symptoms of depression and anxiety
  • Improves sleep
  • Helps maintain or improve physical function (the ability to get things done in life)
  • Improves immune system, appetite, muscle strength, and range of motion
  • Does not increase risk of breast cancer-related lymphedema and may help reduce symptoms
  • Decreases risk of cancer recurrence

For more information and to apply for the program, please contact Jan Blalock at jan@parkpointhealthclub.com

Jan, thank you so much for all the hard work with this program. You and Shelly have made it so much fun and I have enjoyed meeting everyone. And thank you for helping me get my strength and balance back. This program is so important for all of us that have gone through this journey. —Heidi

Thank you so much for leading such a valuable Cancer Wellness series! It’s been a terrific program and catalyst in my recovery process. I was looking forward to joining Parkpoint and this series was such a fantastic bonus and aid in getting back into fitness training. The series of exercises and your encouragement and guidance have been so helpful, and it’s been a great team approach. Really appreciate the sense of community you’ve cultivated and how you’ve made the classes fun and lively! I’m so grateful to you and Parkpoint for offering this program, and hope there may be options for continuing this series and/or that future classes will be offered. Thanks again! —Deborah
